Investigators from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)
interviewed actor Vhong Navarro today inside his hospital room regarding
the details of his ordeal under the hands of Cedric Lee and his group
last January 22 at the Forbeswood Heights Condominium in Taguig.
Although
he had difficulty speaking, with the help of his lawyer Atty. Alma
Mallonga and his manager Chito Rono, Vhong tried his best recalling the
details of what happened that night when Cedric and some men attacked
him to defend 22-year old student Deniece Cornejo who he was allegedly
raping. Vhong just recently underwent a 5-hour operation for a fractured
cartilage and still can’t breathe through his nose. He is also
suffering from periorbital hematoma in both eyes.
Vhong’s
camp filed six cases against Cedric’s group – Serious Physical
Injuries, Grave Threat, Grave Coercion, Illegal Detention, Unlawful
Arrest and Blackmail. According to the NBI, the actor’s statements
coincide with the CCTV footage they have acquired from the condominium.
The Showtime host also emotionally gave a message to the people who continually support him and pray for his speedy recovery.
“Gusto ko lang po magpasalamat sa lahat ng naniniwala at sumusuporta sa akin at sa mga kaibigan ko sa industriya. Sa lahat po ng nagmamahal sa kin, sa pamilya ko, sa mga anak ko, sa girlfriend ko, sa buong sambayanan na patuloy pong humihingi ng hustisya at suporta sa akin, salamat po. Kayo po ang nagpapalakas ng loob sa akin. Salamat po.”
Vhong will remain in the hospital for another week and will also be undergoing post-traumatic stress therapy.
