On the 125th Session of the International Olympic Committee, Mikee Cojuangco was inducted as a new member of the IOC along with eight others.

Mikaela Maria Antonia Cojuangco-Jaworski, better known as Mikee Cojuangco, was the first Filipina to be part of the IOC. She received 79 out of 94 votes from members of the IOC in the session that took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Inducted along with her are Octavian Morariu of Romania, Bernard Rajzman of Brazil, Alexander Zhukov of Russia, Paul Kibii Tergat of Kenya, Lawrence Probst III of the United States, Dagmawit Girmay Berhane of Ethiopia, Camiel Eurlings of the Netherlands, and Stefan Holm of Sweden.

Her father and Philippine Olympic Committee President Peping Cojuangco is optimistic about Mikee’s capability to help the Philippine Sports. “She can be a big help in putting the Filipinos to the limelight of the Sports World,” the older Cojuangco told the Weekly PSA Forum Tuesday.

She stated she will give her full support for the Filipinos who want to claim the first gold of the Philippines in the Olympics.
She also clarified that “I am the representative of IOC in the Philippines, not the representative of the Philippines in the IOC.”
