Far Eastern University Tamaraws’ Terrence Romeo bags the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the
UAAP Season 76 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Romeo, who led the Tamaraws in the 7-0 first round finish, compiled 75.29 statistical points (SPs) at the end of the elimination round. Averaging 22.2 ppg, 1.6 spg, 6.3 rpg and 3.9 apg, his team is currently tied with NU Bulldogs and DLSU Green Archers at 10-4 in the team standings.
Right behind him is Charles Mammie of the UE Red Warriors, who garnered 75 SPs from 15.1 ppg and 19 rpg. Mammie could have been awarded the MVP honors had he not received suspensions. Also, due to the suspensions, he could not receive any of the awards this season.
Two-time MVP Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. of the NU Bulldogs acquired 73.86 SPs to settle at third. Karim Abdul of the UST Growling Tigers ranked fourth with 70.93 SPs and Roi Sumang of the UE Red Warriors at fifth with 64 SPs.
This season’s Mythical Five will be comprised of Romeo, Parks, Abdul, Sumang and Emmanuel Mbe.
