Actress-singer Jolina Magdangal has officially marked her return to
ABS-CBN by signing a two-year contract with the Kapamilya network on
Wednesday.
Magdangal’s first project is the soap “Flordeliza” with her original love team partner, Marvin Agustin, who is also making a comeback as a Kapamilya.
In an interview with the entertainment website Push, Magdangal said she is excited to be part of ABS-CBN again after 12 years.
“Siguro dahil sobrang bilis ng mga pangyayari, hanggang ngayon parang
hindi pa talaga siya sobrang nagsi-sink in sa ’kin eh. Minsan a-attend
ako ng taping, parang nalulula pa rin ako dahil ang saya ng feeling.
Tapos hindi pa ako sobrang nahihirapan dahil si Marvin pa ‘yung partner
ko, tapos ang director ko si Direk Wenn (Deramas) na siya rin ‘yung
naging director ko nung huli akong gumawa ng movie sa Star Cinema 12
years ago.
So iba ‘yung feeling. May excitement, kaba at nao-overwhelm ako sa mga pangyayari pero napakasarap,” she said.
Magdangal said she is set to appear on the ABS-CBN Sunday variety show “ASAP” to promote her upcoming project.
When asked why she only decided to return to the Kapamilya network after more than a decade, the actress-singer said: “Naniniwala ako sa timing eh. And kumbaga lahat ng nangyayari [ay] nangyari kasi may purpose siguro kaya ganoon. Hindi ko na iniisip, ‘Bakit nga ba 12 years? Bakit nga ba ganoon?’ Tiningnan ko siya as finally, eto na, andito na ulit. Hindi ko na lang kinwestiyon bakit ganoon, and I think malaki ang purpose bakit naging 12 years. Tine-take ko siya as right timing.”
Magdangal went on to tell her fans that they will see a “bagong Jolina,” citing her new real-life role as a wife and mother. She has a child with her husband, musician Mark Escueta.
“Mommy na ako, happily married ako, and andoon pa rin ‘yung minahal nila ako kung paano ako dati, andoon pa rin ‘yun. Pero siyempre mas nadagdagan pa,” she said.
Meanwhile, Magdangal said she is hopes to work with Kapamilya stars Maja Salvador, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Xian Lim, Enrique Gil and Daniel Padilla during her two-year stint on ABS-CBN.
