One movie that
is interesting to see this February is 'Unfriend'. An indie film that
has the element of same sex relationships and the power of social media
in this generation. The inspiration to this indie film was the viral
story of the boy who killed his boyfriend and his lover inside a mall.
Remember that tragic love story?
This film took the Berlin Film Festival
by storm by giving it's audience a love story they never seen before.
Personally, I am curious about this movie and I want to see how the
story will unfold. Check out the movie's official synopsis below:
David,
jilted by his lover just before Christmas, to turn to the screens of his mobile
phone, iPad and computer in a desperate attempt to extend his affair with his
17-year old love, Jonathan.
Altarejos masterfully relates a gay teenager’s
heartbreak and obsession with the social media and makes for a grappling tale
of how the Internet can drive fragile minds into a dangerous world. As David’s
phone calls, text messages and Skype calls go unanswered, he becomes more and
more detached from reality and wanders through the crowds and chaos of Manila
with a fatal plan forming in his head.
Starring Angelo Ilagan, Boots Anson-Roa and introducing Sandino Martin and directed by Altarejos, 'Unfriend' opens February 26, 2014. A must watch!
