This is the word Ernaflor Tosco used to describe her passion for
music. The Boracay native took a gamble and pursued her dream after
finishing college, abandoning what her mother believed was a more
secured life.
Tosco found herself singing in countries like Switzerland and now, performing in front of Sarah Geronimo, Lea Salonga, apl.de.apl, and Bamboo Mañalac for a chance to be named this season's "The Voice of the Philippines."
For her blind auditions, she chose the Asin classic "Ang Buhay Ko."
Her "mesmerizing" voice was enough to turn the chairs of both Salonga and apl.de.ap, who took turns in wooing the singer to join their respective teams.
"Here's the thing about you kasi na napansin ko. You sing something about the island of Boracay na parang biglang naging presko dito sa studio," Salonga said.
"Mayroon kang built-in na versatility eh with the guitar and your kind of voice that you have, so siguro ang mabibigay ko na lang sa iyo ay vocal health kung paano manatiling malakas kahit na may karamdaman," she added.
For his part, apl.de.ap took a more unconventional approach. He stepped out of his seat, barefooted, and joined Tosco onstage.
He then told the 28-year-old: "You're unique. I need uniqueness in my team. I would not change you a bit. I would like you to be just the way you are, I love you just the way you are so please pick me."
Tosco, in response, composed a short song. It ended with the lines: "Ang coach na pipilin ko --no offense magaling po kayo-- ang pipiliin ko lang po ay 'yung malapit sa kulay ko."
The morena singer joins Alisah Bonaobra, Bradley Holmes, Jannet Cadayon,a Mark Cando, Meredita Quiachon, and Samantha Felizco on Team Apl.
