Star Cinema Movie "Crossroads" starring Bea Alonzo, Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta.

It's not another mistress movie.

This was the quick clarification of Bea Alonzo, Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta as they announced on Tuesday that they will work together for the first time in a movie.

The film with the working title "Crossroads" is under the direction of Nuel Naval and will be released in 2015, the lead stars told reporters during its story conference at producer Star Cinema's headquarters in Quezon City.

"This is not a mistress movie," Gomez said. "This is a story about our lives, a story about how people overcome problems and get obsessed with certain situations."

Zulueta agreed, saying that projects featuring a love triangle are not necessarily about extra-marital affairs or a third party in a relationship.

"They will be surprised when they watch it," she said. "Hindi siya malalim. It's actually very relatable. A lot of people will be able to relate to our characters."

According to Alonzo, she will portray a lawyer who is engaged to a politician. Often in the backseat and a second priority to her partner, Alonzo's character decides to end the relationship and focuses on herself. As she tries out sailing as a sport, she meets the character portrayed by Gomez.

"Actually, nasa gray area siya," Alonzo said of the relationship of the characters. "Hindi siya black and white. It's very complex, so I can't say too much kung ano 'yung role ko dito kasi mari-reveal na 'yung buong story."
"But it's not a mistress story. I'm not going to become a mistress."

The projects marks the first time Alonzo will co-star with Gomez and Zulueta, a former real-life couple who was considered one of the most popular tandems in the '90s. The two reunited in the 2012 drama series "Walang Hanggan."

"Very, very excited ako, kasi, 'di ba, ang dami na nilang napatunayan sa industriyang ito," Alonzo said, referring to Gomez and Zulueta. "They seem to be very good people and fun to be with. I'm sure we're going to have fun sa set."

Asked what her reaction was when she was offered the role, Alonzo recalled feeling overwhelmed. "They have such big names na pag itabi sa'yo, nakakahiya," she said.

Aside from "Crossroads," Gomez and Zulueta are set to start work on a TV series with the working title "A Family Story." Directed by Jerry Sineneng, it will also star Tonton Gutierrez, Assunta de Rossi, Jessy Mendiola, JC de Vera, and Sam Concepcion.
