More than three weeks after Herbert Bautista admitted to a panel of
news anchors on national TV that he loved Kris Aquino but has no
intention of pursuing her again, the actress and TV host dubbed as the
Queen of All Media finally broke her silence and poured her heart out in
a lengthy and emotional interview on “The Buzz”.
During the “Yes or No” segment of the ABS-CBN news program, “Bandila” last June 6, anchors Karen Davila, Julius Babao and Ces Oreña-Drilon, the Quezon City mayor also known as Bistek replied, “Yes pero naputol” to Karen’s question if he and Kris were ever in a relationship.
When Karen asked if he wanted to rekindle their aborted relationship, Herbert said, “Wala na talaga akong magagawa. No, hindi na talaga puwede.” Later, when Karen rephrased the question and asked him if he intended to court Kris again, Herbert again replied, “Hindi na.”
When pressed by Julius to explain why their relationship did not prosper, Herbert said it was because he loves his children.
Kris admitted that she was hurt by Herbert’s replies in that “Bandila” interview because she truly loved him and also because he had promised her that he would come back in her life after fixing what needed to be fixed, including himself.
“And when he tells you na babalik siya kapag naayos na ang lahat ng kailangan niyang ayusin, starting with fixing himself, because mahal mo siya, aasa ka. And every day magdadasal ka. Ang prayer mo, sana God it’s part of your will that we will be together in the future,” she revealed.
As she tried to maintain her smile throughout the segment and declared that she’s neither angry nor crying, Kris even recalled some of their fondest memories, including the time they went to Starbucks and split the bill for their orders. Despite all the heartbreak, her simple message for Herbert in the end was simply, “True love graciously lets go”.
“I really wish that kung anong magpapaligaya sa buhay mo, kung ano ang kukumpleto sa ‘yo bilang tao, sana lahat ng ‘yun mapunta talaga sa ‘yo, sana makamit mo ‘yun…Grateful lang ako na dumating ka sa buhay ko. Someday, sana maging magkaibigan pa rin tayo,” she concluded.
Almost immediately following the interview, netizens posted mixed reactions on Twitter with a good number more sympathetic to Kris than her latest ex.
