Broadcast journalist Ted Failon looks into the government’s proposal
to revive the Pasig River Ferry Service to help in reducing traffic
congestion in Metro Manila in “Failon Ngayon” this Saturday (Mar 1).
Aside from providing an alternative means of transportation to the
public, the government also sees the project as a possible source of
revenue that may contribute to the rehabilitation of the historic Pasig
River.
The ferry service was discontinued in 2011 due to the declining number of passengers and navigational hazards, such as the river’s foul odor and water lilies that clog the waterways.
