Angel Locsin took social media and local showbiz by storm yesterday
when she got emotional and admitted her real feelings for ex-beau Luis
Manzano during the press conference for her teleserye The Legal Wife, which is slated to air on Januray 27.
Fans
and netizens went abuzz not just because of her revelations but because
Angel’s kind of candor is refreshing. Also, both Luis and she came from
fairly recent breakups from their respective showbiz partners and
baring herself so soon is quite brave.
Even host of Ikaw Na, a segment in Bandila,
Boy Abunda asked her if she planned what she said at the press con or
if she spilled her guts inadvertently. Angel recounted where she was
coming from with her revelations. “Pumunta siya sa bahay nung New Year, pinuntahan niya yung pamilya ko. Unfortunately and siguro tama na rin na tulog na ako and ‘di kami nakapag-usap. So, sa mga susunod na araw dumalaw siya and akala ko magkakaroon kami ng ilangan pero ewan ko parang bumalik talaga yung friendship namin. Ang tagal naming nag-iwasan, yung taong yun.. sarap baliin (she gestures with her hands) pero nung nakita mo wala e, wala na tayong magawa e..”
She further said that she didn’t mean to create a furor. “Hindi
ko sinasadya. Ayoko lang magpaka-ipokrita. Yung iba siguro iniisip na
hindi tama, pero mas okay na sa akin yung magalit yung ibang tao, kesa
ho sa lokohin ko kayo.”
Boy Abunda said that he thinks most of the commotion comes from “kilig” and Angel elaborated, “Tao
lang ho talaga at gusto ko lang ho talagang maging honest at aminin
naman ho natin lahat ho tayo pinagdaanan ito. Wala naman hong perpekto
pagdating sa pagmamahal.”
Boy also asked
her what she and Luis talked about in the dressing room. Prior to the
interview proper, Boy told Angel that he thinks he saw something and
asked her if Luis went to her dressing room. Angel said yes. “Well, dumating siya sa dressing room, medyo feeling.
Kasi yung mga nasabi ko ho kasi, kaya medyo emotional din siguro ako
doon sa interview, kasi kahit siya di pa naman niya alam yun e. Kaya
siguro ang hirap din, hindi ko lang din siguro ma-suppress yung
nararamdaman ko. Ang hirap po magtago ng emosyon e.”
Boy
assured Angel that a lot of people are happy for them and one of them
is most probably Luis’ Mom—Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto. He also thanked her
for being generous. Angel answered with, “Madamot po ako Tito Boy, sa
totoo lang madamot po ako. Siguro, ano lang hirap ‘pag matagal mo nang
tinatago. Yung may gano’n ka palang nararamdaman, tapos kahit ikaw hindi
mo nare-realize di ba kasi hindi naman namin pinlano.”
The Legal Wife, aside from showcasing exemplary talents such as Jericho Rosales and Maja Salvador, will also be JC De Vera’s first teleserye at ABS-CBN.
Boy especially mentioned The Legal Wife’s trailer as “one of the most talked about in the history of television.”
Angel added. “Magpapasalamat din ako sa promo team ng The Legal Wife kasi napakaganda ng trailer talaga. Of course, sa mga direktor naming si Direk Rory Quintos, Direk Dado Lumibao kasi nakuha nila yung pagiging real nung istorya, pati yung sa Creative (team) namin. Nakakatawa nga Tito Boy kasi sa Instagram, sa Twitter may mga gumagawa ng mga memes.. Nakakataba ng puso talaga.”
Reacting on some beautiful lines from the series, Angel said how much she values promises. “Importante sa akin yan kasi ‘pag hindi mo natupad ang pangako mo, wala ka ng tiwala di ba.”
And on breaking away from people and relationships, she said how hard it is for her to leave someone. “Sobra po Tito Boy, lahat naman tayo naka-experience ng ganyan, ‘di naman madali ang humiwalay.” She also said that how soon before a person moves on also depends on “maturity na rin at sa lalim ng relationship.”
She also shared a bit of love wisdom. “Ako
kasi, napaka-mapride kong tao at antagal bago ko maamin yun. Alam ko,
pero hindi ko maamin talaga na mapride akong tao at kailangan ibaba rin
yun, kahit alam mong nasa tama ka. Kailangan mo talagang ibigay lalo na
sa ngalan ng pagibig.”
