Thousands of Filipinos in Japan trooped to the “Philippine Festival Barrio Fiesta” held for the second year in a row at the Yamashita Park in Yokohama.  Organized yearly to present the Filipino’s colorful culture, booming tourism and including corporate social responsibility to the people of Japan, the “Philippine Festival Barrio Fiesta” welcomed representatives from government headed by Joseph Estrada, Mayor of Manila, the sister city of Yokohama and Manuel Lopez, Philippine Ambassador to Japan, from the community, from non-profit organizations, as well as from corporate entities to showcase an extravaganza of fun, food, and fiesta.

As the official distributor of ABS-CBN content in Japan and the trusted network in the region, The Filipino Channel (TFC) brought more global Filipino flavor to the two-day fiesta on September 28 and 29 with the best of entertainment and services from home at its Kapamilya booth.  Concert King Martin Nievera performed all-time favorites while “Be Careful With My Heart” tandem Tart “Yaya Doris” Carlos and Viveika “Yaya Sabel” Ravanes left the audience in stitches.

During the “TFC Hour,” subscribers were treated to an exclusive meet and greet with the stars.  Aside from Martin, Doris and Sabel, comedienne Kitkat and doctor to the stars Vicky Belo who also hosts “Belo 101” on TFC, also visited and gamely posed at the photo booth with subscribers.

Aside from the meet and greet, a 32-inch LED TV was also raffled off where long-time subscriber Imelda Dela Cruz was picked as the lucky winner.  To cap the “TFC Hour,” TFC launched its newest subscription package TFC Choice, which lets Filipinos enjoy four ABS-CBN shows for 30 days for only Y1,000 (Php 441).

Aside from TFC, the “Philippine Festival Barrio Fiesta” also welcomed exhibitors from partner remittance, banking, food trading, and real estate industries.

With a seeming, endless parade of Filipino fun, flavor and fiesta, the “Philippine Festival Barrio Fiesta” stands to make another round of festivities in Yokohama in the years to come.
