Movie and TV director Wenn V. Deramas and his former boyfriend, actor DJ Durano, have managed to stay good friends even after they broke up.
So how did they do that?
Both said their friendship is greater than their romantic relationship in the past.
"Nagsimula naman po kami bilang magkaibigan so kumbaga binalikan mo lang 'yon. At saka siyempre iisiipin mo na mas maraming magandang bagay namang nangyari hindi lang 'yung relasyon, ise-set aside mo 'yon," said Deramas, who is directing Durano in the upcoming comedy film "Moron 5.2."
"Bilang ako naman ay naniniwala na mabuting tao si Durano, so 'yun siguro ang pinanghawakan ko lang din para maging magkaibigan kami at maging magkaibigan pa hanggang mamatay siya... till the end of time," the director added.
For his part, Durano said he also considers Deramas as a mentor in show business.
"Okay naman si direk kasi mabait na direktor 'yan at ever since naman ay magkaibigan kami at 'yung suporta niya sa akin bilang mentor. Siya talaga ang gumawa ng DJ Durano. I always say it, kahit sino ang nagtatanong sa akin na walang DJ Durano kung walang direk Wenn Deramas," Durano said.
The actor also stressed that he will be forever grateful to Deramas for helping him.
"Up to now I'm always grateful sa nagawa ni Direk sa career ko at 'yun, palagi akong nagpapasalamat sa kanya," he said.
Early this month, Durano admitted his past with Deramas, saying he does not regret entering into a relationship with the director.
