Kapamilya actor Jake Cuenca won the Best Actor Feature Award at the International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM) in New York City for his local independent film "Mulat."
"You express something that you really believe in. Regardless if it makes money or if people watch it,” says Jake during his acceptance speech held yesterday, October 23, at the Philippine Consulate, New York.
Meanwhile, the film director Diane Ventura bagged the Best Director—Global Feature Award.
Few moments after the Gala Night, Jake uploaded his picture together with the lady director on his Instagram account (juancarloscuenca) with a caption that reads: “Yup that just happened! To God be the glory this is my first international award and I I just won best actor... :).”
IFFM aims to recognize entertaining and diverse films in all genres and scope to equal the diversity of New York artists.
For this year, IFFM will feature various films from October 24-26.
