Starting Over Again has already earned P375 million in the box-office as of March 4, 2014.
This was announced by Star Cinema during the victory party held last night, March 4, at the 9501 restaurant at the ABS-CBN compound. International box-office sales are not included in this figure.
Directed by Olivia Lamasan, the movie has been screening in Philippine cinemas for the past three weeks.
The thanksgiving party was attended by ABS-CBN Chairman Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez III, ABS-CBN President and CEO Charo Santos-Concio, Star Cinema head Malou Santos, as well as the cast members of the movie.
In his speech, lead actor Piolo Pascual said he was shocked to learn about the success of Starting Over Again in the box-office.
"Nung lumabas po na ganun kalaki ang kinita ng pelikula, hindi talaga ako makapaniwala because back during my time, maka P100 million ka lang, okay ka na, nakatawid ka na.
"For the movie to make P100 million in three days, it was so overwhelming for me. I just never thought na it could still happen. Maraming maraming salamat po."
Starting Over Again is on track to surpass the P387 million box-office gross of the John Lloyd Cruz-Sarah Geronimo movie It Takes a Man and a Woman.
It remains to be seen if Starting Over Again will be able to beat the records of Metro Manila Film Fest entries such as Sisterakas (which earned P393 million) or Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy (which earned P435 million).
