MANILA - Nine out of the 10 most-searched TV shows in the Philippines this year were either produced or aired by ABS-CBN, according to tech giant Google in its year-end report on online trends.
Topping the list is the Taiwanese series "Meteor Garden," which had a re-run on the Kapamilya network in March, a decade after its original local airing on the same channel.
Trailing "Meteor Garden" were two other foreign series aired by ABS-CBN -- "The Heirs" and "Angel Eyes," both South Korean program that got primetime time slots here.
The reality show "Pinoy Big Brother: All In" ranked fourth, followed by the Twitter-trending Kapamilya offerings "The Legal Wife," "The Voice Kids" and "The Voice of the Philippines."
In eighth place was Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla's "Got to Believe," ahead of GMA-7's "Empress Ki," and the period drama series "Ikaw Lamang" featuring Coco Martin and Kim Chiu.
Overall, the top Google searches in the Philippines in 2014 were: Vhong Navarro, Flappy Bird, Robin Williams, "Rude," "Frozen," Cedric Lee, Paolo Bediones, Jennifer Lawrence, Malaysia Airlines, and "Meteor Garden."
