Beauty Gonzales held back her tears as she expressed how overjoyed she is with the success of her latest primetime series.
“Dream Dad,” which debuted on primetime last Novemeber 24, led the 15 most watched TV programs in the Philippines in November with an average nationwide rating of 30.1%, according to Kantar Media.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News on Tuesday, Gonzales said she has waited for a while to have a break in showbiz and she is glad that her efforts are finally paying off.
“Ayaw ko maiyak pero sobrang thankful ako kasi siyempre hindi ko po ito in-expect. Thankful ako sa unit namin, thankful ako sa ABS na binigyan ako ng chance ngayon. Sa lahat ng nanonood, thank you din dahil nagustuhan niyo yung role ko,” she said.
“Masayang masaya. Thank you sa lahat ng nanonood ng Dream Dad. Nakakatuwa po ang ratings namin ngayon. Thank you sa pagtanggap sa amin. It’s overwhelming,” she added.
Gonzales said it overwhelms her every time she realizes that things are finally falling into place when it comes to her career.
“Siyempre lahat naman tayo nangangarap na mabigyan ng break. Isa din ito sa dream ko. Nakaka[tuwa] lang na lahat ng pinaghirapan ko, may nakukuha ako at may dumadating sa buhay ko,” she said.
“Ako po hindi po ako namimili ng role. Ang sa akin, kung maganda at bagay sa akin at kaya ko naman gawin, why not? Gusto ko po ang trabaho ko so kung anong ibibigay sa akin and kaya ko naman, why not?” she added.
Gonzales said she considers her non-showbiz boyfriend her lucky charm.
“I’m very happy right now. I’m very happy with someone right now. He is a blessing to me kasi when we started the relationship, maraming dumadating para sa akin. He’s my lucky charm.”
“He’s always supportive. I’ve been taping every day and he finds time na magkaroon kami ng oras. Sometimes pupunta siya sa taping just to say good night. Hindi naman ako yung taong I want extravagant things. Simple lang ako, masaya,” she said.
