A teenage singer proved that it was her talent that made her win several contests in the past as she made three coaches turn for her during the blind auditions of the second season of "The Voice of the Philippines".
Originally from Sultan Kudarat, Demie Fresco, 16, now stays in Manila to study. She said she joined the contest to prove that she has the talent to win contests, contrary to what others believe.
"'Yung dad ko po nagwo-work as school administrator, which doon po ako nag-preschool hanggang high school. Naru-rumor po ako kasi I'm the class valedictorian nga po. 'Ay ano siya, anak siya ng school administrator kaya nag-class valedictorian. Kaya nanalo siya sa different contests.'"
Fresco sang "Ikaw", which made three coaches turn their chairs.
Only Lea Salonga did not turn for Fresco.
"Technically you have the tools na. Medyo nabibigatan lang ako ng konti sa vibrato mo, sa umpisa. But it's not to say na hindi ka talented. You have something very special," Salonga told Fresco.
"Your voice, ang lakas. Parang nagwo-workout," apl.de.ap said.
"Gusto ko kung paano mo ginawang simple lang, hindi mo in-over sing, at ang ganda ng akyat ng mga high notes mo, hindi parang nahihirapan," Sarah Geronimo said.
"It took me a while cause, iniintay ko lang 'yung kwento. How you're going to finish the whole song. If you want to progress on my team, that's something you got to have," Bamboo said.
Fresco eventually became the third member of Team Sarah, joining singing wakeboarder Daniel Ombao, and reggae singer Kokoi Baldo.
