It’s no longer a question of whether Ryan Agoncillo will be involved
with TV5’s “Talentadong Pinoy” when the well-loved talent search series
returns to the air this year.
“I never really left in the first place. Nagpahinga lang. But as far as ‘Talentadong Pinoy’ is concerned, it’s definitely coming back,” Ryan told InterAksyon and News5 shortly after meeting with TV5 Executives last Friday, June 6.
He added that what has yet to be determined is whether he will still be hosting the award-winning show, which enjoyed a five year run before bowing out of the air last year.
“As to what capacity ako babalik, that’s what we’re still trying to figure out. For now, this meeting is just a pregnancy test. Let’s wait for the ultrasound,” he quipped.
Ryan, who was accompanied to the meeting by his manager Noel Ferrer, said his involvement with the show did not end with its last Grand Finals show last year, when Spyro Marco was hailed as the show’s fourth Ultimate Talentado.
“All of us in the ‘Talentadong Pinoy’ family have kept our ties. Itong pahinga na ito, hindi natigil yung pag-iisip namin ng bago at paghahanda kung sakaling magbalik nga yung programa,” he revealed.
Asked if he has his own ideas about how the show will move forward regardless of what role he will play in the 2014 edition of “Talentadong Pinoy”, Ryan is very happy with the productive exchange of ideas he had with TV bigwigs TV5 chief content quality audit officer Bong Sta Maria, chief entertainment content officer Wilma Galvante, president and CEO Noel Lorenzana, and TV5 head of sales Jay Montelibano.
“As far as my ideas are concerned, it’s safe to say that our group, the ‘Talentadong Pinoy’ family, has a lot to offer and TV5 also has a lot of ideas to offer. We just need to sync and be on the same page. Hindi biro ang pagbabalik ng ‘Talentadong Pinoy’. Mahal natin yung programa and when you come back, you always have to be exciting and more exciting than the last one,” the actor-host pointed out.
Galvante is very pleased with the developments even at this early stage of their talks.
“I like it that Ryan is excited, that he’s involving himself as the show moves forward to returning on the air. Of all the talent search shows out there, this is the one that has heart and has the strongest grassroots support. We’re bringing back the novelty, the fun and the excitement with Ryan,” she added.
Even as his possible return to the Kapatid network remains up in the air, Ryan is very optimistic of what the future might bring.
“I’m excited for TV5. I’m excited for ‘Talentadong Pinoy’ and whatever happens, I’ll support the show in whatever way I can so abangan na lang nila. I cannot say much. Right now, things are looking up. And hopefully, magkabalikan nga ang mga dating mag-on.”
