ABS-CBN has released the first trailer for Pure Love, an upcoming television series starring Alex Gonzaga and Yen Santos. The series is an adaptation of the Korean series 49 Days which was aired in Tagalog-dubbed version on the Kapamilya Network in 2011.
In the story, Diane (Alex) figures in a car accident because of Ysabel (Yen) who wants to kill herself due to heartache. Diane ends up comatose after the accident, but the "Scheduler" (Matt Evans) tells her she can still survive if she completes a mission of gathering three teardrops shed out of pure love by three different persons within 40 days. Diane then possesses the body of Ysabel in order to carry out her task.
After the trailer aired, "Pure Love" and "49 Days" became trending topics on Twitter, with netizens expressing their excitement both on seeing Alex lead a teleserye for the first time and being able to watch the local version of the Koreanovela as well.
Pure Love is directed by Veronica Velasco and Mikey del Rosario, and also stars Sunshine Cruz, John Arcilla, Arjo Atayde, Yam Concepcion and Joseph Marco. It is set to premiere this July on ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Gold afternoon block.
