“The Bottomline With Boy Abunda” examines the current state of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) this Saturday (March 29) with acclaimed
and influential OPM singer-songwriters Lolita Carbon (ASIN), Cooky Chua
(Color It Red), and Bayang Barrios (Bagong Lumad).
Known as pillars of OPM, the three women formed super group “Tres Marias” and recently released their first self-titled album to encourage Filipinos to patronize local Filipino music. Representing different eras of OPM, the trio will reveal how their differences have made their styles come together seamlessly.
How did they find each other? How are they keeping up with younger artists especially in the age of iTunes, YouTube, and downloadable music?
Don’t miss the 10th USTv Students’ Choice Awards 2014 Students’ Choice of Public Affairs Program “The Bottomline With Boy Abunda” this Saturday, after “Banana Split: Extra Scoop.”
