A beaming Kim Chiu greeted the media as she graced the after party for Bride for Rent’s movie premier last January 14, Tuesday. “Thank you sa lahat ng natuwa, sa lahat ng nag-enjoy sa pelikula. Maraming, maraming salamat. As in kanina sa sinehan sabi ko ito na ang banat ko, ito na ang banat ko, sana havey-havey, tumawa naman sila lahat so nakakatuwa,” the actress said in response to the great feedback she received after the screening.
Kim shared that headlining a romantic-comedy film is something that she truly enjoys doing. “Nakakatuwa kasing gumawa ng rom-com parang ang sarap sarap sa pakiramdam na makita mo yung ibang tao na tumatawa sa ’yo, na napapasaya mo so nakakatuwa.”
In Bride for Rent,
Kim plays the role of Rocky, a sassy and a funny girl who agrees to
marry a rich and stubborn guy named Rocco (Xian Lim). The latter needs
to be married before he can get his trust fund from his grandmother as
stipulated in legal papers. Rocky needs the money to help her struggling
family. The plan was that they would part ways as soon as Rocco gets
his trust fund, but things turn out differently and in a twist of fate,
their lives are changed forever.
“Sabi nila Kim na Kim ‘yan eh, hindi lahat ng tao nakakakilala kung sino ako talaga, masayahin, so it's really a feel good movie so 'yun lang tawa ka lang ng tawa, ‘yung iba umiyak sila sa mga eksena. At the end of the story nagtawanan ang lahat at don nila malalaman ‘yung meaning ng forever sa lahat ng hindi naniniwala sa forever,” she shared on how she can relate to her character and on how the movie is packed with lessons about love.
Kim hopes that the movie will score big at the box office. “We're hoping and praying na sa showing date namin maraming sumuporta,” she stated.
Bride for Rent is now showing in theaters nationwide.
