This week the teams were asked to design a family room, and who better
to help with a family room than kids? Some teams stepped up to the mark
and utilised their helpers to create rooms that impressed the panel,
while others fell behind.
As part of their prize from winning the Garden challenge last week Adam & Adrian took Beauty Queen’s Ines & Jennifer to dinner at the Retro Café. Table talk seemed to revolve around Ines and Adrian, as Adrian attempted to “woo” the Beauty Queen. But somehow Adrian's words came out wrong every time...
To complete this week’s challenge, teams were given a set colour scheme to work off, with the help of Colour Guru Jeremy Rowe. After choosing their colours the teams went shopping with their young mentors.
Pearlyn & Nara were teamed up with Sasha, but Pearlyn wasn’t impressed about working with kids, “I don’t talk to children, they are best seen and not heard.” The dynamic duo were given a neutral colour scheme to challenge their “control”, and Jamie was impressed with what they came up with.
Fashionista’s Yvette & Sonya were given an introverted theme, but Jeremy wasn’t convinced the girls met their brief. The Sassy Duo were given young Nicole to help them decorate their family room, and she wasn't afraid to voice her opinion, “I think Lawrence would say; Congratulations girls, you’ve finally put something ugly in your room.”
The Dream Team from the Philippines; Deankie & Tiara had a limited budget this week, as Adam & Adrian took $2000 from them as last weeks challenge winners. Nevertheless, the pair created an impressive family retreat with the help of young Elsa, proving themselves as a force to be reckoned with!
The Beauty Queen’s Ines & Jennifer were given 8 year old Jai to help them shop this week, and their young mentor proved more useful then they expected. The girls faced drama again when their design didn’t go to plan. "You guys just have trouble with things in the air don't you?" Will they have done enough to stay in the game another week?
Last weeks winners Adam & Adrian went with a timeline effect in their family room. The panel wasn’t convinced with their interior of “leather and port”, but was unanimously impressed with their tree house, and use of colour in the garden.
Deankie & Tiara won the panel over with their inspired feature wall that Lawrence called "borderline evil genius", earning their 2nd challenge victory in the competition.
It was the Beauty Queen’s and The Boys in the bottom two again this week, but this time it was Ines & Jennifer that weren’t so lucky, making the Beauty Queen’s the 5th team to leave the competition. Will this be the end of Ines and Adrian?
