Actor and TV host Edu Manzano has just tweeted his concern over a
photo collage of relief goods purportedly coming from the Department of
Social Welfare and Development intended for evacuees in Zamboanga City.
The collage, consisting of two compared photos, is attributed to an anti-PNoy Facebook group called Showbiz Government that first posted it Tuesday. Shown on the left is a photo of the breakdown of the contents of the original relief package: 10 kilos of rice, 12 pcs of noodles, 8 sardines, 12 pouches of coffee and 4 tins of meatloaf.
The right photo shows what the evacuees have actually received: 6 canned goods, a small bag of rice which at most seems like only one or two kilos, and two packs of instant noodles. “Some items are missing from the actual package,” the caption went.
While the “What’s Up, Doods?” host hopes that that what the two pictures depict are not actually what the evacuees are getting, he did not mince words in hiding his dismay in his last tweet if the photos do in fact paint a true picture of what is going on in Zamboanga.
A check with the official Twitter account of the DSWD reveal that they have not yet responded to the issue as most of the current tweets show they are focusing their relief efforts on the victims of Visayas killer earthquake, mostly those that are based in Cebu and Bohol.
The DWSD’s last tweet regarding relief efforts for Zamboanga was posted Tuesday where the agency quantified how much cash, food and other in-kind assistance has been extended to families affected by the military vs. MNLF conflict in the city.
