Miss Philippines Ariella Arida is slowly, but surely, gaining edge over other Miss Universe 2013 candidates. Why do I say this? Well, for one, she is consistently being chosen for most of the Miss Universe major events, like the Tony Ward Couture Fashion Show (26 candidates chosen), Moscow Raceway (20 candidates chosen) and the Mercedes Benz TV commercial in Russia which will be aired throughout the year even after the Miss Universe season ends (4 candidates chosen - Germany, Austria, Philippines and Poland).
Ara (Ariella's nickname) was also chosen to model for the 2014 Yamamay for Miss Universe Swimwear Collection held at the Rio Leninsky Mall, wherein 18 candidates participated, but the organizers changed their plan because it would conflict with the Tony Ward Fashion Show where Ara was also a part of.
The two events were held at the same day with only a few hours gap and the distance between the two locations was quite far. The organizers decided it would be difficult and tiring for Ara to be joining both events. In line with the event, Miss Czech Republic won the Yamamay Swimsuit Competition.
Ara's name is also mentioned in several beauty pageant sites, as one of the early favorites. "Miss Universe Pageant Hotspots," a leading Miss Universe fan site, includes Ara's official Miss Universe glamshot photo as one of their TOP 10 best glamshots. The site said that the top 10 choices were made by a photographer and a team of pageant enthusiasts.
The official website of Miss Universe, itself, has Ara included its cover photo, along with 3 other candidates, on its latest blog post titled "Fadil Berisha Fashion Photos are Released."
The post is about the shots done by Fashion Photographer Fadil Berisha on all 86 contestants of the Miss Universe 2013 Pageant, with "Ice Queen" as this year's theme. Although Ara seems to have all the advantages, she still needs our support in her bid for the Miss Universe crown.

In connection with the Yamamay Swimwear Fashion Show, here's an unfortunate incident that happened to Miss Dominican Republic Yaritza Reyes.
One of her foot accidentally landed on a hole on the runway, which caused her to fall while doing the ramp. Maybe, it was a blessing in disquise that Ara did not get to join that event because it could have been her who would have fallen on that hole. Anyway, Yaritza was very professional to stand up right away and go on with the show. Here's a video of that incident:
